Puma x FUBU
History in the making could be one way to put it regarding this amazing new Puma x FUBU collaboration. The German brand joined the ultimate old-school label to present a unique looking capsule collection.
The set necessarily includes a version of the iconic Puma Suede. The Suede has been around for half a century. Most silhouettes cannot even compare to this one, for obvious and many different reasons, one of them being the fact that it has been around for 50 years.
The Suede withstood the test of time and has gone through decades of cultural revivals. This capsule collection pays a special tribute to the iconic FUBU tracksuits and the always-raw Puma Suede.
Available in adult, grade-school, and infant sizes, the FUBU x Puma Suede is dressed in a black velour upper. It all comes together with a red velour lining, while the Formstripe is outlined in red.
The Puma Suede FUBU sits on top of a black rubber sole and red outsole for contrast. Moreover, when on the streets, you must stand out from the crowd, therefore the Suede features striking gold accents and details. It is delivered with three sets of laces (black, red and white).
If you are all about matching outfits, then this collaboration is for you. The T7 Track Jackets and Pants for men display a 7cm red-stripe on the sides. Both pieces feature a PUMA vs FUBU satin twill applique and a “What Will Your Legacy Look Like” patch on the back.
On the other hand, if you like to keep it simple, the t-shirt comes in plain old white with a large FUBU x PUMA rubberized screen print applique on the chest.
FUBU: Born in the 90s
It all started with Daymond John, Keith Perrin, J. Alexander Martin and Carl Brown back in the early 90s in New York. FUBU was a considered a hip-hop staple when it comes to clothing and footwear.
They built a brand from nothing, that’s a fact. A simple motto was followed during all of this time: inspired by the streets, to the streets. «When we started FUBU we were very young. We were all looking for a way out. Not a way out of the hood, but a way», recalls J Alexander Martin, Co-Founder of FUBU.
The brand still has a great impact when linked to entrepreneurship, determination, and excellence. The four of them paved the way for the street culture entrepreneurs of today, believe it or not.
You may not have heard much about FUBU in recent years, however, they are still going strong after 25 years. But we are not done, just yet.
The ladies are also in for this one. the T7 Track Jacket comes in black french terry with a 7cm stripe on the sides as well as a satin twill applique on the back, gold foil Puma No 1 logo on chest and also “What Will Your Legacy Look Like” patch on the back that perfectly pairs with the T7 WMNS Track Pants.
The Puma x FUBU collection will be available on January 26. Head over to Puma’s website and good luck.
