How many of you are old enough (and lucky enough) to say that you were able to see Karl Malone play during the prime of his career? No, I’m not taking about Karl Malone with the Lakers during the early 2000s. I’m talking about the Karl Malone who was a two-time MVP, All-Defensive team, All-NBA team from the late ’80 and all of the ’90s.
The 14-time NBA All-Star was nicknamed “The Mailman” because he always found a way to deliver. Playing the majority of his career with the Utah Jazz, he formed a formidable duo with his teammate John Stockton. Considered the best Jazz player in the history of the franchise, the current Jazz franchise player Donovan Mitchell pays his respect to Mr. Malone by releasing the adidas D.O.N. Issue #1 Mailman.
The adidas D.O.N. Issue #1 Mailman pays homage to Karl Malone by dressing the shoe in the Utah Jazz team colors. The shoe comes dressed in a white and purple color scheme consisting of purple mesh on the toe and white on the medial side panel and heel. Adding Utah/Karl Malone vibes to the shoe are the Rocky Mountain peaks on the midsole, a postage stamp (Mailman) with Mitchell’s jersey number (.45 cents), and Mitchell’s logo done in orange on the tongue. A light blue rubber outsole completes the look.
No word yet on when adidas will drop the adidas D.O.N. Issue #1 Mailman, but expect a release date to be announced in the near future. A must-cop for Jazz fans, is this the best colorway yet of the adidas D.O.N. Issue #1?
