Honors Johnny Cash https://cultedge.com/2018/02/diamond-supply-x-johnny-cash/ https://cultedge.com/2018/02/diamond-supply-x-johnny-cash/#respond Fri, 16 Feb 2018 11:46:24 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=39695 Diamond Supply x Johnny Cash

Diamond Supply joins forces with Johnny Cash’s estate for a powerful new collection. To celebrate the greatness and music of Arkansas’ born singer and songwriter, guitarist, actor and author.

Quick note: Cash sold over 90 million records worldwide. Mr. Cash always embraced a little bit of everything, from rock and roll to rockabilly, from blues to folk. His musical feel and genius are way beyond any style for that matter.

The complete full range is dropping on Diamond Supply Co’s website on February 23rd.

All American:

Lately, we have seen Diamond Supply Co. hitting some headlines. Not that long ago, we started to fear for the brand, but in recent times, as it seems, it all changed.

Sure, it may sound weird, but if you look closer, both Diamond Supply and Johnny Cash have influenced American lifestyle in their own way, and as a whole.

This capsule collection celebrates the legendary singer’s iconic music and style. Included is a bundle of t-shirts, hats, two hoodies and a selection of accessories.

The prints vary from the singer’s name to distinct Nashville symbols that include the rolling dice and crossed pistols, all adorned across the sleeves, front and back of the items.

For last but not least, Diamond Supply Co.‘s logo is also displayed, however, merged into the artwork as well as in its classic form. Following this drop, the label is bankrolling a special performance in London side by side with young artists and musicians, covering some of Johnny Cash‘s most noteworthy songs.

About Diamond Supply Co.

It all started in 1998 as a skateboarding hardware company. Nicholas Tershay, best known as Nick Diamond, started his brand from a one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco. It did not take long for the brand to take off, more or less.

Mike Carroll and Rock Howard invited him to move to Los Angeles and Diamond started selling gear just at the back of their distribution warehouse for “Girl Skateboards“. A rather humble start developed to a company that now offers apparel, footwear, accessories and of course, skateboarding hardware.

Everything was going great, but the sky was always the limit. Diamond Supply Co. had quite a boost in 2005 after working with Nike. The Diamond x Nike SB Dunk is known to be among the best SB-sneakers of all time, even now, within the sneakerhead community.

The so-called “Tiffany” helped the brand grow across borders, making sure that their costumes were not just linked to skateboarding. However, it wasn’t until 2012 that the brand really took off.

Setting the pace for what Diamond Supply Co. is today, Nick Diamond has worked side by side with Kanye West and top-of-the-line companies such as Karmaloop. Some believe that in 2012, Diamond Supply Co. dropped their best collections of all time.

Believe it or not, Nick still knows what he is doing. He keeps innovating and strategically collaborating with other brands, making sure Diamond Supply Co. remains right at the top.

The Promising Designer: Who Is Kiko Kostadinov? https://cultedge.com/2018/02/who-is-kiko-kostadinov/ https://cultedge.com/2018/02/who-is-kiko-kostadinov/#respond Sat, 10 Feb 2018 12:58:42 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=39503 Who Is Kiko Kostadinov?

Kiko Kostadinov is currently one of the most promising fashion designers. Born in Bulgaria and ready to take on the world, Kostadinov seems to be all over the news these days.

In general, people dress to impress and that’s a fact. Furthermore, (and even if surely many may disagree) your status is decided by big brands and hefty price tags. On the other hand, there are quite a few that do not get enough credit and still go underground.

Fact: Kiko Kostadinov gets all the credit he deserves, but he still lays low when comparing to others, oddly enough.

Fashion as a social statement

Nowadays, it is fashionable to be fashionable, if that makes sense. Everywhere you go, if you look around, you will always be able to spot someone well dressed, or at least trying to do to so.

There are designers and influencers that we all follow and heard about, for different reasons and related to different niches. That is fromYohji Yamamoto to Errolson Hugh, from Toby Feltwell to Rick Owens.

These are all people whose creative path has a powerful impact in the so-called “fashion world”. But that is something you should not worry about. Kiko Kostadinov is surely not worried about it since he is only in his late 20s.

Kiko Kostadinov bio tells us that he made up quite a curriculum and climbed up a very steep ladder in very little time. Kostadinov is just one of the most promising designers of his generation.

Considering that he never thought of going full-speed and making fashion a profession, he is not doing that bad, at all.

From Bulgaria to the UK

Born in Bulgaria and now based in London, he is mostly influenced by uniforms and work wear.  Also, and at the same time focusing on creative and inventive pattern cutting techniques. Detail is his middle name, producing rather complex and sophisticated garments.

Kiko has also worked with his father a few years back during weekends and holidays as a decorator. A circumstance that influenced and shaped him into what he is today. As a student, he needed to start earning his own money, like any other London-based graduate.

Not that long ago, in 2015 to be precise, he was a Fashion Design student at Central Saint Martins in London. At that stage, he launched a 20 piece vintage streetwear capsule collection with Stüssy.

The set was launched to celebrate the brand’s 35th anniversary. The Stussy x Kiko honored the label’s heritage and longstanding engagement with regards to street-culture.

NEWGEN comes in

Thereafter, Kiko Kostadinov signed with NEWGEN to take part in London Collections: Men for Spring / Summer 2017.  He kept on going while generating some deserved hype among brands and influencers.

Fast forward and he was also appointed by Mackintosh to take the wheel an become Creative Director for their new collection, Mackintosh 0001. A collection that was shown during Paris Fashion Week in January 2017 displaying a great conglomerate of modern vision with luxury tradition.

Working side by side with Dover Street Market, the young designer continues to build in-store installations for their locations in London, Ginza, and New York. Moreover, he merged forces with Commes des Garçons Trading Museum for the launch of his Spring / Supper 2017 collection.

Plus, if all the above is not enough, he was announced as one of Forbes Europe’s 30 under 30 in The Arts Category.

Kiko Kostadinov x Asics

His latest venture was with ASICS, the Japanese giant. The collaboration involved the GEL-Burz 1 model and was released in three different colorways. Sure, some may think the model is calamitous and unfriendly to the eye.

But, we have seen the trend of the thick and chunky midsoles and silhouettes used by many, many brands across the globe. That shoe, in particular, features FlyteFoam technology, making sure your feet remain snug and comfortable as you go. A feature that is perfect for the daily commuter.

For once, and finally, an ASICS runner got a proper update that merges the best when it comes to sports/exercise and streetwear type of styling. And that is becoming a trend as well.

Kiko’s Asics GEL-Burz 1

Because around here we actually know a thing or two about footwear, we can go further on this. Its on-feet comfort comes from the FlyteFoam midsole, but also due to the fact that the GEL-Burz 1 is designed with a strong heel tab. It is finished off and built using breathable mesh.

Again, they are not everyone’s cup of tea, but it kind of boasted ASICS hype (we have not seen anything like this since the GEL-Lyte III 25th Anniversary).

Without a doubt, we have high expectations for Kiko. If you want to better keep up with his future endeavors, also make sure to check out and follow Kiko Kostadinov Instagram account.

Revival Of The 90s: SNOW BEACH https://cultedge.com/2018/02/snow-beach-by-ralph-lauren/ https://cultedge.com/2018/02/snow-beach-by-ralph-lauren/#respond Thu, 01 Feb 2018 18:44:46 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=39013 SNOW BEACH is back

SNOW BEACH the really iconic collection made famous by Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon is back. And the truth is that this totally retro drop looks almost as good as the original.

In 1993, the one and only Raekwon, part of the Wu-Tang Clan, featured in “Can It Be So Simple” music video one of the best capsule collections that Ralph Lauren has ever released: SNOW BEACH. It was an instant hit after that.

snow beach ralph lauren

History note: As expected, the rise of hip-hop from the early 80s to the late 90s clashed right upon two of Ralph Lauren’s most significant designs: the American Flag and the Polo Bear.

We would be disappointed to know that you have never heard of Wu-Tang Clan. But, we are here to help and give you insight (and because we have seen and heard many, many strange things).

Before and after Wu-Tang Clan

Wu-Tang is originally from New York, where Ralph Lauren’s headquarters is still located. Born in the early 90s, the hip-hop group is formed by RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, to name a few.

Considered one of the best hip-hop crews of all time, even if some views were taken with prejudice back then, it only made Ralph Lauren’s brand grow stronger. Please do not take us wrong, but as much as we’ve encountered people that don’t know what an Air Max 1 is, there can be a few of you that have no clue what Wu-Tang Clan is about.

Without trying to go off topic, for sure that 2017 marked a new era when it comes to footwear. However, fashion labels are not staying behind at all. This is the perfect example. Ralph Lauren “retroed” that same early 90s collection inspired by the details, colors, and silhouettes that previously released.

Sure, now it is nothing but hyped. OG collectors may be slightly disappointed that everyone will be trying to purchase, but we’ve said before: life is not fair.

Ralph Lauren: not all brands are created equal

All brands are trying to target what we know as streetwear. Sure, some may fit the purpose more than others, but there is no other way around it if you think about it. If Supreme can collaborate with Louis Vuitton if Lil Yachty has launched a Nautica Capsule Collection, why can’t other brands be associated with hip-hop and its derivatives across the globe?

Before we get into the specifics, let’s start from the very beginning, as we should.

Born in a Jewish family from the Soviet Union (Belarus), Ralph Lauren’s long-standing career started at DeWitt Clinton High School. At night, he would be working at Alexander’s while on the other hand, during the day, he would be selling handmade ties to his school peers.

As many would say, he was hustling from a very young age. In a good way of course.

Lauren’s markup was between $7-10 back then. As time went on, his face-to-face business kept growing during his evening classes at Brooklyn’s Baruch College. He was doing the exact same thing as before, selling his handmade goods to his colleagues.

Nevertheless, his ambition was as big as the world. Hence, he thereafter became a neckwear salesman at Brooks Brothers. It was quite a step for him we should add.

Ralph Lauren is born

His legacy kept on going, up till now, even though he had no idea that his brand would become what it is today. By the time he was designing his own neckwear pieces, he was already married with three children.

The year of 1967 also marks when Ralph Lauren’s brand was officially born. As of today, the “polo logo” is recognizable anywhere you go. It does not matter if you wear it or not, but you just can’t deny it. Although, don’t you think that there was a lot of thought put into to that.

Ralph has never stepped a foot onto a polo field, he just liked the sport. Odd, but true. Long story short, 30 years plus have passed and the brand keeps expanding internationally while upgrading and launching male and female colognes, denim lines and luxury accessories.

High fashion and streetwear all in one world

As mentioned above, many brands are trying to mingle with the streetwear scene, and yet again, we are reviving its fundamentals. This launch, in particular, is split into two parts. The first displays flashy and energetic color blocking items while a monochromatic, classier and technical approach will be released on February 1st.

The SNOW BEACH capsule collection is close to perfection when compared to the 1993’s drop. It truly keeps its DNA intact. It also revisits the Americana nostalgia we all expect from Ralph Lauren.

If you plan to buy the OG drop, you can always head over to eBay – please bear in mind that prices are skyrocketing. On the other hand, click here and get your favorite retro item.

Arrest The President: New Exclusive Drop By 10.Deep https://cultedge.com/2018/01/10-deep-arrest-the-president/ https://cultedge.com/2018/01/10-deep-arrest-the-president/#respond Tue, 30 Jan 2018 10:38:40 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=39003 10. Deep: Arrest the President

10. Deep presents a brand new drop dedicated to a President. Striking or acute are really the words that come to mind when you check out the brand’s latest set of pieces.

When you think of streetwear, a few names come to mind. For once, let’s leave Supreme aside, even though they are a core-skateboarding brand. Some, nevertheless, may come with a lot of thinking, while others, such as 10.Deep, come at ease to our minds.

Around the world, there are issues that become the headline and for sure that the American Presidential election was one of those topics. It still is, to some extent. No need to expand much on this, you know exactly what happened.

10. Deep: Discussing ideas since 1995

Scott Sasso founded 10.Deep back in 1995 and is an independent heritage street fashion brand. It all started with streetwear-scene-influenced garms that originated from musical and visual subcultures seen in New York, Tokyo, and London. They stand strong for over 20 years.

As streetwear as a whole has always been walking side by side with the community, shaping what we know today as “fashion”, it makes sense that as a form of expression, it can also be involved somewhat in politics.

Sure, Mr. Sasso is not running for president, nor Kanye West for all that matters (or do you know something we do not?), but the production of certain items can also have an impact on society as we know it. This is exactly what happens here.

We will get to that in just a second but think of Shepard Fairey. His murals and art surely have a message that has always been linked to propaganda-inspired drawings. What we mean is, no matter what you do, you can have an effect upon humankind.

“Arrest the President” in 2018

This is where 10.Deep comes in, for now. The “Arrest The President” hoodie and long-sleeved tee will be shipped just in time to arrive for Presidents Day 2018 (Monday, February 19th).

Apart from looking awesome, and we are sorry we lack words to describe it (there’s really no other way to say it!), half of the profits from this first release will be donated to the Invisible Project.

The Invisible Project’s mission is to develop and manage a movement of grassroots groups that work together to elect leaders to overthrow Trump’s crooked and shady agenda.

For last but not least, simple yet effective, this capsule collection displays cotton printed pieces.

Head over right now to their website and pre-order your own piece of 10.Deep Arrest The President.

Never Freeze: A Brief Look at Canada Goose History https://cultedge.com/2017/12/canada-goose-history/ https://cultedge.com/2017/12/canada-goose-history/#respond Fri, 29 Dec 2017 22:05:01 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=38201 Canada Goose History

Founded in the late 50s, by Sam Tick, Canada Goose was created to meet a simple need. Canada Goose history says that, by then, the goal of the brand was just to create clothes that could protect you from the weather of the great white North.

However, building a fashion brand from the ground up exposes many hopefuls to quite a bit along the way. When looking at Canada Goose history we find out about just that.

In fact, there are very few things quite as strange and overwhelming. Sure, there are a ton of brands who have taken conventional routes.

But, for each orthodox success story, there are countless attempts that end in failure. In between those extremes are the shining examples of names that become household through rather unorthodox means.

Karl Bushby

Particularly, Canada Goose history presents an interesting case of finding elite status almost accidentally. Canada Goose begins in the very coldest regions of the West, otherwise known as the Great White North.

From there, it is all a fascinating tale of a company that never loses its original sights. On the contrary, we see that Canada Goose’s rise in global status coincides with their commitment to their Arctic beginnings.

So, just when did Canada Goose originate?

Canada Goose was founded way back in 1957, in Toronto, Canada. The label was founded by Sam Tick. By then, it used “Metro Sportswear Ltd.” as its designation. To make warmer outerwear and everything else in between to withstand Canadian winters. That was the goal.

Just to be sure, pragmatism is at the very heart of everything the brand does. The hefty price tags and celebrity endorsements all belie the intense focus on each garment’s task.

Yet, there’s an equally sharp focus on the people who wear their products. From world-class athletes to the risk-takers and adventurers of every day, the recognition spreads wide.

Made in Canada

It might seem like a silly question: where is Canada Goose manufactured? Well, fear not, because there’s a lot to that answer. On a surface level, Canada Goose history bases its local roots in Toronto.

In the 1970s, David Reiss contributes an idea to an age-old industry. Working for his father in law’s Metro Sportswear company, he rethinks the process of filling jackets. By inventing the down-filling machine that operates on volume, Reiss effectively changes the very standard by which outerwear manufacturing operates in the 70s.

It’s at this time that he ponders striking out on his own. As you might have guessed, he does and the brand we would all come to know as Canada Goose was born.

Starting its journey out under the name Snow Goose, Reiss’s new enterprise is very specific. After all, the company was starting out with a home base in one of the coldest parts of the planet. It only made sense to focus on garments that would protect against those frigid temperatures.

One of the first establishing releases from Snow Goose was made for scientists stationed in the Atlantic.

Expedition Parka aka “Big Red”

Expecting Expeditions

The Expedition Parka, a bulk mass of serious weather protection, keeps staff safe as they plug away at the notorious McMurdo Station. Much like the version we see in stores today, the Expedition was a beast of a parka.

Upon initial release, no piece of outerwear comes close to its weight. But, this isn’t because of too many bells and whistles. On the contrary, a thick and robust Arctic Tech outer layer houses a whopping 625-fill-power duck down.

Of course, this was and still is an intensely purpose driven jacket. Though now available in a bevy of colors, this parka is meant for a part of the world where “Summer fun” is a temperature just above freezing.

Manufactured entirely in Canada, the Expedition Parka eventually becomes an industry standard. At the time, there’s no better option for those looking to keep warm in the absolute coldest of temperatures.

“Big Red,” as it would be called, was inspiring more adventures into the sub-zero unknown. In 1982, history is made as the first Canadian to ever scale Mt. Everest, Laurie Skreslet, does so in a Metro Sportswear parka.

Known today as Canada Goose’s Skreslet Parka, this heavy duty coat boasts even more protection than “Big Red”. Climbers, adventurers, and casual citizens alike can feel the warmth of 750-fill-duck down.

Lauri Skreslet

Changing winds

The 90’s see the company taken over by Dani Reiss, a pivotal move in Canada Goose history. Though he isn’t a fan of taking over the family business at first, Reiss eventually heads the company and makes a head-scratching commitment.

Canada Goose will not change its base of operations. All of the protective wears remain, to this day, as products of Canadian manufacturing.

Now, in almost any other business, resisting the urge to outsource is inviting financial strain. Unfortunately, that doesn’t change when it comes to the particular business of winter gear.

As demand shows signs of steadying and leveling out, local production becomes too cumbersome for even the brightest companies. The result was a mad dash for overseas outsourcing and the irrefutable cost benefit of doing so.

The prevailing thought within the fashion industry, in general, was that consumers would not care where the products were made.

Milos Raonic

Resilience

The company’s newest chief executive was of an entirely different mind. In fact, the strategy of vacating domestic production lines was so rampant that Reiss saw it as an opportunity. If every competitor left, quite simply put by Reiss, “we would be the only ones left.”

Another key to this was the brand’s faith in the consumer. Reiss sets out his strategy with the belief that consumers would indeed pay the hefty price tag for an “authentic” product. His faith pays off in Europe, as the Canada Goose name takes off across the pond and likens to names such as Prada and Gucci.

Surprisingly, the decision to keep Canada Goose Canadian is the main unique selling point in the European luxury market. Combine this local ethos with those notorious price tag, and you have an authentic luxury item.

Wearing a piece of Canada Goose was like biting into a croissant from Paris or rocking Armani straight off a runway in Milan. The product is unique to its region, making it especially appealing.

Even today, the company earns praise and recognition for employing 6% of Canada’s cut and sew industry. This should come as no surprise, Canada Goose has always been about its people.

Taking Care of Their Own

Through the 90s, Canada Goose history faces uncertainty. Competition is only getting more fierce at this point, with bottom lines at the top of everyone’s minds.

The early 2000s, following the appoint of Dani Reiss, see those fortunes flip, resulting in the global appeal of the brand. This translates into Canada Goose finding its stride in its homeland as well.

Though lauded for their function and design, Canada Goose wears boast an eye-popping price tag. Marketing this to the local denizens of Toronto, sub-zero temperatures and all, would prove difficult.

Before the European boom, selling product in the local market seemed to be quite the obstacle. But, this soon changes and the global icon eventually also becomes a badge of native pride.

Karina LeBlanc

Perhaps the most notable thing to come out of this success is the response from the company. In 2007, Canada Goose celebrates their 50th anniversary. Well into a position of relevance in the industry, the brand decides to celebrate its customers as well.

They put together and release a book by the name of “Goose People,” spotlighting fifty people who personify the Canada Goose values. Of course, these values are, much like their products, unique to a certain spirit of the Great White North.

Goose People

Take the example of Lance Mackey. Further away from the Arctic Circle, that name is perhaps unfamiliar. But, Mackey is a record-breaking champion dog-sledder. As if racking up the race wins weren’t enough, Mackey comes from a family that lives and grows in the Alaskan wilds.

Not impressive enough? His commitment to his sport was unrelenting even in the face of cancer, with which he would battle for four years. It’s fair to say the man earns his title of “toughest athlete alive.”

Throughout his races through unforgiving temperatures, Mackey trusts no other brand than Canada Goose.

Lance Mackey

An equally compelling story is that of Marilyn Hoffman, a nurse who finds herself alive today because her Canada Goose parka kept her from drowning in the Arctic. Paddy Doyle is another great story.

The lifelong pilot found his plane making an emergency landing due to an ice storm. Alone in the middle of the tundra’s definition of nowhere, Doyle’s Canada Goose gear kept him warm while he sought shelter. It was especially useful for the three days it took for a rescue to arrive.

Binding Ties

Aside from the frigid temperatures, all of those stories have something in common with each other and the brand. Upon greeting the rescue team, Doyle insists on flying his own plane home.

Hoffman didn’t take long after her near-death experience to get right back to work she was passionate about. And Mackey? Well, you can bet your last dollar he’s still mushing his dogs and keeping fit.

Because that’s what “Goose People” are. They do not relent in the face of adversity. They do not let even the biting temperatures of the Great White North to distance them from what keeps them warm.

These people represent what keeps Canada Goose history. Much like the company, their passions are close to home.

Make sure you are ready to face every weather condition. Find Canada Goose at select retailers like END., Mr. Porter or Amazon.

Japan Exclusive Purple Label by The North Face https://cultedge.com/2017/12/the-north-face-purple-label/ https://cultedge.com/2017/12/the-north-face-purple-label/#respond Thu, 14 Dec 2017 17:57:21 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=37813 Japan Born: The North Face Purple Label

The North Face Purple Label is a Japan all exclusive. Still, its reputation of awesomeness and distinction basically conquered fans all over the planet. For fans of the brand and for all that like style overall, it is always a thrill to check out the latest TNF Purple Label lookbook.

The internet is an awesome place, no doubt about that. Day after day, we come across many Japanese brands; the numbers are just endless. The North Face Purple Label is only available in Japan (rumors state that they may come along to Europe as well, but we cannot confirm it just yet). However, this TNF high segment really gathers fans and followers at almost any place in the world. Their price tag is scary sometimes, but just not enough scary to most of they loyal costumers.

The Purple Label is basically a sub-label of The North Face, mix and matching the best in outerwear with stylish aesthetics. Eiichiro Homma is one of the minds behind it and he also runs nanamica, who have always walked hand in hand.

The North Face Purple Label Fw 17

The great fashion outdoors

Founded in 2003, together with nanamica, everything came to life and was designed for a different kind of person. Like a totally different type of costumer. What we call “normal” TNF will always be linked to outdoor activities. However, the Purple Label was launched to tackle another giant niche: fashion, as a whole. Eiichiro adds that it «is modified outdoor clothing with additional modern fashion aspects – creating a high-level mix of style and function, which is nanamica’s fundamental value, too».

In plain and good English, The North Face Purple Label is a prominent and noteworthy mix of every TNF’s attitude, but designed to have an everyday purpose of functionality. Known for their bold color pallets, out of this world prints and patterns, The Purple Label is now better than ever. Shame that around here in Europe … You know the rest.

From the beach to the mountains:

On the other hand, The North Face is often associated with harsh and cold weather conditions. Ironically, it all started on a beach. To be precise, it all started in San Francisco’s Borth Beach area in 1966. Two hiking enthusiasts decided that it would be a great idea to start their own mountaineering store and from the very beginning, they were devoted to serve everyone that craved the conservation of the natural wild lands. That same mantra is emphasized up ‘till today.

With such in mind, by 1968, that same small retailer space became TNF, delivering high-tech climbing and backpacking equipment. As expected, tradition has kept growing and even today, it still goes at full speed.

Later on, during the 80s, the brand expanded their business as a whole. They started to be present in the Ski world, adding tech ski-wear to the range they offered. They were so good at what they did that by the end of the 80s, The label was the only supplier in the United States that could deliver such high-performance outerwear, ski-wear, bagpacks and so on.

Never cease to explore:

TNF has never stopped evolving, hence, during the 90s, it all changed. They decided to broaden their full range and helped athletes to further explore. By then, rock climbers, backpackers, hikers, trail runners, and outdoor enthusiasts were wearing sportswear Tekware™ garments produced by the brand.

It went further; TNF states that it was “launched two game changing product lines – Thermoball and Fuseform. Thermoball introduced synthetic insulation mimicking the capability of down. Fuseform revolutionized the manufacturing space as it changed the way technical apparel is produced”.

Always pushing boundaries of innovation, North Face has also collaborated with brands such as Supreme, creating much hype around both American brands.

Head over to Rakuten and select your favorite weather-proof garm.

Never Stop Exploring™, we tell you.

Furthermore, even if you have never heard of Reigning Champ, we are pretty sure you have heard about Wings + Horns. Born right in between of Tokyo and Vancouver, they stand out from the crowd due to their contemporary fashion approach.

As much as Reigning Champ, each and every item is designed to balance rugged utility with considered simplicity. That’s one of the reasons why they are related.

Nevertheless, we have good news for all the American followers. Unfortunately, Europe will have to wait a little bit more. Well, Europe will have to wait for an indefinite amount of time.

What we mean is Reigning Champ shall open doors in Los Angeles in the near future, as per the announcement at their Twitter account.

We love their concept so much that we even spoke to designer Kenta Goto, back in 2013. He is the lead designer at Reigning Champ, making sure that it all straddles between fashionable and practical clothing.

Yet again – Respect the details. Master simplicity. You can find Reigning Champ apparel at their online shop and also at select stores like Mr. Porter and at East Dane.

We expect no less from this Swedish brand. They may not be the most well known, especially if your hobby is to look at every single streetwear Instagram, but trust us, their building is rather immaculate.

Sailing Racing is considered to be an innovative tech-wear clothing brand made for high sailing performance individuals and teams.

Furthermore, Sail Racing is an official partner of the Oracle Team USA. That same team currently holds America’s Cup trophy. To give you some kind of perspective, when it comes to sailing, that’s like winning the Champions League in football.

Oracle, on the other hand, is a global provider of enterprise cloud computing always on a journey of digital transformation. Just like Sail Racing, Oracle provides and delivers cutting-edge capabilities, however in software. That’s what sets them apart.

We decided to break down to two choices, you know, as the cold weather is no longer around the corner. It actually has already arrived. For once, we have to separate and strip down topics on these Pole Down Parkas. Hence, let’s start from the very beginning.

While details are seen on the chest zipped pocket, front flap pockets and internal compartments, due to its simplicity and clean design, you can wear it on deck as well as on dry land.

However, if you wish to spend a little bit more…that’s right – we’ve got your back. The Pole Down GORE-Tex® Down Parka is built with ace insulation assets due to its two-way GORE-Tex® layers.

As expected, this Down Parka bears any weather conditions. Its down-filled padding is responsibly sourced and you may be able to track it down. You read it right. You will be given an ID and after you log in at www.trackmydown.com, you shall be able to ensure its sustainable 90% down (duck) construction. Quite impressive, is it not?

The END. x Timex “Timepiece Project .01” is a future classic military inspired wrist-watch. This time piece is built with a clear passion for legitimacy and accuracy. As expected, the watch displays a stainless-steel case delivering the perfect mid-century enchantment. It also features a worn-in patina and scalloped rotating bezel as well as a mineral glass case.

160 Years of watchmaking:

It all started back in 1854. Timex‘s roots date back over 150 years in the city of Waterbury in Connecticut. By then, how you made something was just as important as what you made. In fact, if you think of affordable and quality watches, this is the brand you most probably go for.

Nevertheless, no need to introductions when it comes to END. Clothing. Around here, we are used to write and talk about footwear and apparel collaborations, most of them quite unique and superb. This time we just dived into something different just for you. As you of course know, our moto is and always will be: “difference, coolness and grandeur”. The new END. x Timex collaboration watch is precisely all about that: being distinct while staying cool with total aesthetic glory.

Perfect for everyday wear, the “Timepiece Project .01” pays homage to 160 years of watchmaking, merging the best when it comes fo functionality and style. Head over to END. to join the raffle and be ready for purchase.

To Serve and Protect: The New Nike ACG Collection https://cultedge.com/2017/12/nike-acg-2017/ https://cultedge.com/2017/12/nike-acg-2017/#respond Sun, 03 Dec 2017 15:29:45 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=37541 Back to the future with Nike ACG 2017

Usually when it comes to Nike and the Swoosh itself, it is normally associated with footwear, sneakerheads and collectors as well as enthusiasts. However, the Nike ACG 2017 winter, the newest drop from ACG, goes a step further. It basically focuses on the actual build of every single item. After all, we can call this proper tech-wear, for once, even if it has displayed superiority and supremacy from its early stages.

Nike ACG has been introduced to us over 20 years ago, during the late 80s. As expected, it was truly a game changer in all aspects from footwear to apparel. In some way or another, the ACG collections will always have a special place in our hearts. Well, in our feet and body too.

Designed by Errolson Hughand and Johanna Schneider, both long-time design partners with decades of experience in fashion and outdoor apparel. They thought about this collection in a very particular way, making sure its built is tough enough to sustain temperature changes as well assuring that every piece is as comfortable as it is durable. In all honesty, don’t be afraid to spend a little bit extra on the brand new Nike ACG 2007 winter collection. After all such tech-garms will for sure last you a life-time, at least.

In addition, we come across one detail in particular that we were not expecting: color.

Schneider adds that her «… ultimate expectation for ACG garments is to provide the highest and best support in everyday situations that I faced in Berlin and that I know to be consistent with life in other cities …You want a really high level of comfort when moving in what are very vivid, intense and demanding environments».

On the other hand, Schneider goes further explaining that «… a huge component for us is the expression of the garment. Often, women’s product is so directional, it’s expressive and it carries a level of emotion. We discussed how that is sometimes missing in men’s product, and those conversations opened up a new space for the collection to evolve.» In other words, such drop will merge the best in technology, style and comfort perfect for everyday wear.

Three essential strengths joined together:

One great example of those three main pillars is the NikeLab ACG 3-in-1 Coat, the most outstanding and finest piece. Assembled off unique motifs, it delivers the same level of weather protection due to its GORE-TEX® outer shell. Furthermore, the mint liner gives it a superior contrast, displaying and portraying the energy that lives within you.

Fear not, the whole Nike ACG 2017 FW range goes from Tech Woven Pants to Shells and Fleece Crewnecks. In addition, this drop will be available for men and women.

The new Nike ACG 2017 collection is available in Europe from December 9 and December 15 in Japan.
