The adidas Pharrell Williams HU NMD Inspiration Pack
The adidas Pharrell collective gets back together with one of their more recognizable collaborators for another rendition of the NMD Hu. The Inspiration pack brings back a few of the familiar markings from past drops. The NMD Hu takes on four bright colorways, including White, Black, Clear Sky, and Powder Blue. Each of these comes with its own distinctive stylings but they also share the same scripting details.
Chinese characters are embroidered onto the uppers of these Pharrell Williams adidas shoes. They translate to “Inspire” and “empower.” That sort of positivity is nothing new for the adidas Pharrell Williams series. The man’s time as a musical icon is largely about being the bastion of industry-wide positivity and good vibes.
Even a few years back, when initial news of this partnership starts to leak to the rest of the sneaker community, it’s quickly clear what direction it’s all taking. Pharrell makes a habit of promoting values of peace, tolerance, and equality, after all. It’s no great leap for him to then dedicate his adidas work to these sorts of sentiments.
adidas x Pharrell Bold Looks
But, despite his rather passive lifestyle, the colorways of the man’s signature adidas sneakers are pretty bold. The White edition comes with a fairly subtle base, but the accompanying details make it stand out. For one, the ankle collar is in a multi-color look that reportedly takes inspiration from East African weaving techniques.
Green laces then trickle down to a Black TPU caging elements that run along the Boost midsoles. The Black iteration is in much the same style but with a flip on the color details. While the ankle collar is in the woven style, the TPU caging is in a bright Teal. Pairing it with the Pink hue of the laces really gives this version a South Beach sort of aesthetic.
Each of these Pharrell adidas shoes comes with a quite the burst of color but also delivers a unique form thanks to the NMD Hu’s distinctive look.
