Back in December of 2019, Jordan Brand debuted the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom R2T in the debuting Fearless colorway. They’re now getting prepared to follow up the OG colorway of the model with the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom R2T Racer Blue.
Said to be a revised rendition of the iconic Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom R2T silhouette differs itself by utilizing Nike’s signature Zoom Air cushioning technology on its sole unit. If we had to choose one feature on the Air Jordan 1 that many people feel needs improvement, it would definitely be the comfort aspect of the shoe.
The traditional Air Jordan 1 that we’re all used to comes with a rubber sole unit. That’s it. The Air Jordan 1 High Zoom R2T uses Nike’s signature Zoom Air cushioning technology on the sole to improve the overall comfort of the silhouette.
The Zoom-infused AJ 1 in the Racer Blue colorway dons a White and Grey color scheme. The Racer Blue detailing on the shoe can be found on the lining. In terms of construction, the shoe’s upper is made out of patent leather paired up with tumbled leather on the side panels and toe. The shoe also comes with translucent TPU overlays that definitely add a modern aesthetic to the shoe.
In terms of branding, the translucent tongue tags are branded with “Zoom Air” branding on the tongues, a “ZOOM” tag on the lateral ankle, Wings branding on the collar and Swoosh branding on the side panels. The shoe’s most unique feature is without a doubt the outsole which consists of a translucent blue/purple/pink finish.
