The AJ1 Retro Royal is coming
The upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro Hi OG “Royal” gives you variety and still is totally ‘original’. This latest retro version comes with a black leather upper, tumbled leather on the blue sections of the shoe and just an incredible look.
To be sure, the OG Air Jordan 1 is on a short list of universally beloved retros. Every iteration seems to do really well in stores.
The sneaker world generally obsesses over AJ1 retros, including the most recent BRED iteration. But, these releases also teach us that OG quality is really difficult to replicate.
The problem with dropping a retro Jordan model is how rare it is to see a faithful use of materials. Most fans will feel an obvious step down when it comes to the more recent retro models.
In particular, the Air Jordan 1 is a good example of old school leanings towards thicker and more premium leathers. Still, you could very well fall for these.
Though lacking that 1980s vibe, the upper on this model is set in a tumbled leather. This base material, the same as the BRED pair, gets a variety of reviews.
Some love its softer feel while others can’t stand its variation from the Air Jordan 1 Retro Hi OG. The highlight here is going to be the Royal color scheme coming back, which should at least make for a different look.
Originally debuted in 1985 the Air Jordan 1 is really all about being OG. Designed by Peter Moore the model gained its unique place in history steady and fast.
It is the basically the model that started it all: the greater and unstoppable journey of Michael ‘Airness’ Jordan and of his sole signature brand shoes.
The “Royal” Air Jordan 1 OG HI is now available, and while you’re reading this it probably sold out already. You can always try your luck and try to get them for a reasonable price on eBay.
