Pastel vibes with the Asics Gel Respector “Japanese Gardens”
The classic Asics Gel Respector gets a clean pastel “Japanese Gardens” version. When it comes to crushing the retro runners game, Asics shows up on everybody’s list. And, it’s for good reason.
Though also known for their advanced Gel cushioning system, the brand has a host of classic silhouettes. The Gel-Lyte III is a highly popular model, joining the Gel-Lyte V and Kayano trainers.
The Gel Respector is another one of the usual suspects. This pair sports a Grey/ Salmon color combo, boasting a suede upper.
The Asics stripes branding is in a thicker and more robust leather, as with previous releases. A woven tongue logo, along with toe box perforations, adds a touch of detail.
The legendary Gel cushioning sits in between an EVA midsole and rubber outsole. This may be a nice take on a retro model, but it’s fairly functional as well.
Though suede is generally known for its soft texture, the Gel Respector is relatively durable. That goes without mentioning the Gel cushioning, which speaks for itself.
