Basement x Nike Dunk Low: all the details
Now it is real: the Basement x Nike Dunk Low collaboration is here. In three and a half years, Facebook group The Basement has grown like no other. They connect people around the world with one term in mind: Streetwear.
The group certifies that cultures within different background are all in one place, documenting their day-to-day experiences. After debuting “Real People do Real Things”, they come together with Nike for this launch.
The shoe is built with 9 different materials such canvas, corduroy denim and leather, echoing diversity included in the group.
The Basement is all about diversity
Daniel Pacitti, the 18-year-old designer adds that «At its heart, The Basement is all about creating opportunities for young people. When designing the shoe, we made each panel a different material to represent the diversity within our community. When they come together, they form something more beautiful and more powerful».
Further details can be found on the tongue and heel, including a new BSMNT swoosh in addition to a reflective and embroidered mini-swoosh on the mudguard.
All profits of this release will go toward the Youth Futures organization, which helps London local youth with meals and a study-place. There will also be exclusive apparel altogether with these Nike Dunk Low BSMNT.
The collection will be exclusively available at The Basement x Nike pop-up shop in London on July 29. While you’re here, make sure to also check out the latest collaboration between Converse and Sneakersnstuff.
