Brooks Heritage presents the OG Beast

After successful collaborations with Concepts and mita sneakers, Brooks Heritage dug into the archive and unearthed two original colourways of the Beast 1. Brooks Running Company’s first full-on stability shoe was the Beast 1.

Launched in 1993, it quickly became the iconic support shoe of the time. Reborn today, the re-release maintains the running technologies that made it a mainstay for Brooks and the running industry.

They include a moulded TPU heel counter and logo, air mesh vamp and quarter, pebbled leather upper and a compression moulded EVA midsole. The colour combos of the Beast, evident in the upper and the unique two-colour lugged outsole, are decidedly 90s inspired and true to both the decade in which the shoe was born and its original versions.

Today, the Beast lives on with the Brooks Running performance line and the Beast ’14, providing solutions to runners looking for extra support in their shoe. «The re-release of the Beast is a huge milestone for Brooks Heritage,» said Brooks Heritage Global Director Shane Downey.

«The Beast is a pillar of the Brooks brand and bringing the original model back as a sneaker is a leading example of the rooted-in-run authenticity the Heritage Collection stands for.»

The Brooks Heritage Beast 1 will be available in limited quantities at Concepts in the U.S., Sneakersnstuff in Europe beginning Dec. 26 for $139.99 (just in time for some post-holiday spending).

The Brooks Beast 1 will become part of the spring 2016 line of the Brooks Heritage Collection and will be available on a global scale in February 2016.
