Asics Gel-Lyte Forever
Running silhouettes are usually worn, on a daily basis, by normal people. Sure, back then they were worn on the tracks, but that’s just a fun fact.
Specifically, the ASICS Gel-Lyte III is a sneaker that even if popular now, it had its downside. Originally released in 1990, the midsole was chunkier than most runners.
Nevertheless, the split-tongue is still considered a unique approach. But, as soon as it was released, the Japanese brand moved straight away on to the Gel Lyte Ultra.
Look it up, you will find similar aesthetics when comparing to the Gel Lyte V. Now more than ever, the ASICS Gel Lyte III is considered one of the best silhouettes of all time, for many different reasons.
Put aside all the hyped collaborations, from Ronnie Fieg to the AFEW “Koi”, and the silhouette still looks great. In fact, their sales were at its highest during 2015, although, that did not last long.
