Nike Air Berwuda Flashes Back to Brand’s Past

    Nike Air Berwuda is back

Before Flyknit and Lunarlon, Nike went through a series of experiments. Actually, it was a series of many experiments.

When your company consists of two people who obsess over creating the perfect running shoe, this can happen. The Nike Air Berwuda Flashes back to one such trial.

Nike Air Bermuda comes back as Nike Berwuda

The OG of the Berwuda is the Bermuda model. Even on its initial release, in 1979, this wasn’t a heavily featured Nike release.

But, it’s worth noting as a placeholder in the brand’s history of runners. The upper on the Bermuda is a fairly unique combo of mesh, suede, and nylon.

There’s also the addition of a lacing set up that acts as a variable fit system. And, of course, the model finishes off with Nike’s signature waffle outsole.

The Berwuda is an unapologetic throwback to all of these details. From upper to outsole, this is a near perfect redraft of the ‘79 OG. The shoe’s profile reminds us of the Nike Internationalist as well.
