    Nike Stefan Janoski Story

Stefan Janoski is a professional skater, artist, writer and also a musician. He is the man responsible for what really is one of the most classy looking sneakers out there on the market.

Opinions may vary, nevertheless, a pair of Janoskis could very well be with you on (almost) every occasion. We all know about those that got married wearing sneakers, but let’s not even mention those enthusiasts around here, since there is really no need.

The Nike SB Stefan Janoski is, in fact, one of Nike’s skateboarding division best-selling shoes. The fact is that perhaps and rightly because it appeals to so many people, to so many different sub-cultures and tribes.

    Some historical background:

Nike and skateboarding go back decades. The Dunk is just one of the most celebrated skate silhouettes ever, even if, in the beginning, it was not meant to be a skate shoe.

The Dunk was originally launched as a basketball model. But, it was soon adopted by the skateboarding community back in the 80s and it has been their favorite ever since.

Even if during the 90’s skaters would randomly select Nike models to do some serious tricks and maneuvers, Nike’s skateboarding division only appeared in 1997. But, things didn’t go that well.

In the 90s and into the 2000s:

In 1997, when the first Nike Skateboarding skate models were released, the market was dominated by other predominant skateboarding brands. At the time the task was almost impossible.

Real things for the brand only started happening in 2002. After that, the rest is almost history (make sure to check out the complete history of the Nike Janoski right here).

The Nike SB Stefan Janoski, the skater’s first signature shoe, appeared in 2009. The first ever Janoski (seen here) was released with that classic combination of black and white on the upper (black suede upper, white swoosh and midsole) and with a great looking gum outsole.

After that successful release, countless versions and colorways hit the market, most of them to become real coveted models. Janoskis are one of the best Nike skateboarding shoes ever released. Also, make sure to check out our ultimate Top of Nike SB Stefan Janoski for fall.
