Sneakers Love Portugal Second Edition just happened

Sneakers Love Portugal, the first-ever sneakers event in Portugal, happened last July 11. The Taberna das Almas, in Lisbon, an old glass factory, was the location selected.

More than one thousand people attended the event, the first-ever gathering of sneaker fans in Portugal. The happening followed the expansion and establishment of the Facebook group Sneakers Love Portugal, founded by Mário Mesquita Borges, Pedro Lima, and Tiago Escada Ramos.

What was once an online place of discussion and trade has naturally developed to become a real community that drives the sneaker business in the most Southern country of Europe. The trade show included a ground floor with showrooms by brands like Asics, Aspvlt, Gourmet Footwear, Le Coq Sportif, Saucony and Vans, a top one for several Portuguese and Spanish shops selling selected stock and a third location with a very exclusive exhibition.

“The Closet”, presented by Heineken, was a one a kind expo with some rare kicks. Vintage models and an exclusive set of collaboration sneakers were presented. The exhibit had a selective access scheme. Only 10 people were allowed to visit each time and only for a 10 minutes period.

The organizing committee, brands, shops and fans that attended were strongly convinced that the event was a complete success. Check out a selection of pics of the event below. Also, be sure to check with us frequently for updates about the Sneakers Love Portugal second edition.
