    Vans Old Skool: Since 1977

The Van Doren brothers, together with two partners named Gordon Lee and Serge Delia, started Vans back in 1966 at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim, California. Back then, they were known to manufacture and produce Vans in-house.

Originally released in 1977 (that’s more than four decades ago) the Old Skool is one of the most notable sneakers models in existence. A favorite for all skaters, BMX riders, rockers, young and old people from all kinds of subcultures the Vans Old Skool is really transversal.

After all, in recent times, there have also been released some awesome collaborations and special releases. The Gosha Rubchinskiy X Vans Old Skool LX, the Vans x Brain Dead Capsule Collection(that featured the Old Skool LX), or even the Odd Future x Vans Syndicate Old Skool Pro S.

The Vans Old Skool were first known as the “Style 36”. They were the first shoes to display the iconic side-stripe. By now they are more durable mostly due to the re-enforced toe-caps altogether with padded collars for additional support.

There are countless Vans Old Skool colorways. There are also numerous iterations with different and distinct materials.
