    adidas Gazelle History and Background:

    adidas Gazelle History

It all started in the world of sports, however, later on, it was linked to quite a few subcultures. Important so-called celebrities have been seen wearing them as well, from Kate Moss to Michael Jackson, back in the days…

The adidas Gazelle original release date was back in the mid-60s. At the time, with one very particular characteristic: the fact that it was built with suede. In fact, it was the first shoe that adidas produced using suede (or in this case, kangaroo velour).

Known for its contrasting white stripes (even though in recent years we have come across many, many iterations), this adidas Gazelle laid the foundations for many models that were produced thereafter.

Most shoes during this time were built using leather. As known, suede is much lighter but still delivers a great amount of on-feet protection.

I am sure you are reading this and thinking that this is all old news but think back 50 years. The adidas Gazelle truly revolutionized footwear. And that is a fact.

    An adidas Gazelle Review:

Nevertheless, we will not get deeply into how the Gazelle has changed. Yes, it changed in quite a few specs since its original release.

Launched over 50 years ago in two specific colorways, red and blue (just like the adidas Gazelle Super 2017), both displayed different blueprint designs to fit different proposes.

One example would be the micro-cell ripple sole where small air bubbles were incorporated into the rubber, offering a more cushioned impact when on feet. You may be surprised, but Nike was not the only “air” available (even if the “air” by Nike was launched quite a few years after this).

Throughout the years, the adidas Gazelle has become rather popular, especially in the UK. Later on during the mid-80s, the Austrian made Gazelle Grun (Green) was released, making sure that more colors were available within Europe.

Lately, the silhouette is considered a vintage-retro phenomenon, releasing many different colorways, collaborations and updated versions (ie: Primeknit).

For now, have a look at the best adidas Gazelle available. Bear in mind that sale season has already arrived, so you may actually find quite a few bargains here and there. While you’re here, also make sure to check out the super retro vibes of the adidas Forest Hills.
