Diadora: Decades of quality

Diadora is one of the most relevant footwear labels there is. A brand with a great tradition and background at least. So, it is only logical to get to know more about the Italian label.
However, and unexpectedly, Diadora’s first product was a bit far from their current footwear sportswear shoes focus. Diadora’s first so-called “invention” was a special pair of hiking boots.
All of this happened way back during the 1950s. Way before getting into the so-called “athletic scene”, Marcello Danieli (Diadora’s founder) started to observe what people needed, therefore, he decided to design and build skiing boots.
Mr. Danieli, therefore, followed one of the most important principles there is when it comes to all things business: find out what your customer wants and just provide it. With the rise of sports all around the world, Diadora decided to go ahead and create athletic shoes and not only runners.
One of the best examples of this is their unique connection with tennis. Diadora decided to endorse Björn Borg, a Swedish professional tennis player. A few years later, Borg even had his own signature shoes.
Over the years, the Borg Elite became of Diadora’s most notable pieces of footwear. Diadora plays, in fact, a huge and important role in the sportswear industry when it comes to all things footwear.
Moreover, it is still manufacturing in Italy. They are also known for their “quality” as their middle name. As in “quality” seen per most of their footwear models.
