When it comes to Asics silhouettes, the Asics Gel Saga is as classic as it gets. The runner made its debut close to 30 years ago (1990) and still manages to remain relevant as well as being an integral part to the brand’s year-round offering. If that’s not classic and withstanding the test of time, I don’t know what is.

Equipped with a very versatile designed upper, many style, colors and motifs fit perfectly on the Gel Saga. That said, with Summer being in full-effect, today we take a look at two of model’s newest Summer offerings.

Coming in your choice of White/Black/Yellow, or White/Black/Teal, each colorway comes dressed in mesh upper paired up with the suede overlays. Made for the current modern times, this heritage iteration of the model is given updated Gel technology, making this pair a viable comfy candidate for your Summer beaters.

Adding some depth to the shoe is the hit of contrasting color noted on both the branding and on the printed overlay noted on the side panels. White midsoles and colored outsoles round out the main features of both colorways. Now up for grabs, pick up either colorway of the Asics Gel Saga from select retailer such as END. for the retail price of £79.

The Bangkok retailer joins forces with Asics to drop new collab

Established in 2010, Carnival started as a small Converse store that provided a wide variety of Converse products to theis customers in Bangkok. Close to a decade later, Carnival has joined forces with Asics to release this special collaborative edition of the Asics Gel-DS Trainer OG.

Dubbed the Carnival x Asics Gel-DS Trainer OG Muay Thai, this special iteration of the 90’s runner is said to be inspired by the traditional colors and symbols of the Muay Thai combat sport. The mixed-material construction of the upper starts off with a semi-tonal Cream-colored base that utilizes a combination consisting of mesh, suede, canvas and leather.

The Muy Thai vibes com in effect with the help of the bold Red, Blue and Gold hits strategically placed on the heel tab, Asics branding on the side panels and tongue, as well as on the top eyelets. The Cream colored midsole and two-toned outsole match up effortlessly with the aesthetics of the upper. Although this is not an OG colorway of the Asics runner, can’t you picture these fitting right in the 90’s with it’s classic vibes?

Summer vibes with the new Asics Gel-Kayano 5 OG

The Asics Gel-Kayano 5 made its initial debut way back in 1999. Twenty years later, not only has this timeless Asics silhouette made a return to the limelight, it manages to fit right in with today’s fashion aesthetics. I guess you could say the model was way ahead of it’s time, right?

The Asics Gel-Kayano 5 is known for its intricate design while also being very comfortable and lightweight. Being that it is a ’90s sneaker, the Asics Gel-Kayano 5 dons today’s fan favorite chunky sole motif paired up with an upper that has plenty of layers and constructed out of a myriad of materials.

This new colorway of the model dons White mesh upper paired up with suede and leather overlays done in shades of Light Brown and White. With Summer being right around the corner, the Volt and Blue accents noted throughout the shoe make these a viable choice for your Summer sneaker rotation, don’t you think?

Standout features on the shoe include the aggressive tiger stripe branding on the side panels, the White speckling noted on the Light Brown midsole and the Asics branding hits placed on the side of the collar, tongue, midsole and heel tab.

If style and color scheme wasn’t enough to make you cop, the sole equipped with GEL technology cushioning assures you that you’ll be feeling fly AND comfy throughout your wear of the shoe. That’s the best of both worlds!

Look for this new colorway of the Asics Tiger Gel-Kayano 5 OG to debut on June 21st at select retailers such as SNS. Will you be picking up a pair?

Celebrating 25 years via the ASICS Gel Kayano 5

The reputation of the ASICS brand comes down to a few things. Namely, this historic footwear label is an innovator of the very concept of performance. Kihachiro Onitsuka’s company, since its early inception, puts an unflinching emphasis on getting the technical designs right.

That stringent focus leads to some memorable breakthroughs. For most of us, the GEL cushioning system comes to mind. To celebrate 25 years of runner experimentation, the brand is also bringing back the Gel Kayano 5.

Asics Beginnings

ASICS Gel Kayano 5

In 1993, ASICS sets their sights on a very particular goal: creating a dynamic, all-purpose athletic shoe. Showing a mastery of the classical runner, they take notice of the cross-training trend that finds ubiquity in the early 1990s.

Brands such as Nike and Reebok start addressing this need early, so it was only a matter of time before ASICS found their footing in this category as well. The mission is to create a shoe that performs just as well on outdoor runs as it does during indoor training sessions.

The man who receives this assignment is a veteran designer by the name of Toshikazu Kayano. In his five years with the company, Kayano had worked on all sorts of projects for ASICS. His work spans several categories including basketball and running. Inevitably, Kayano’s dynamism finds its way onto the Gel Kayano 5 in 1999.

Inspiration

ASICS Gel Kayano 5

Before we get to the Gel Kayano 5, it’s important to note that Toshikazu is a man who takes inspiration from all kinds of sources. He brings with him a reputation for expressive mood boards that touch on a wide array of motifs. This is part of the reason why the original Gel Kayano takes its design cues from the stag beetle.

Another part of that was ASICS letting him know they do not care about the retail price of the final product. It just needs to have a clear vision.

The ASICS Gel Kayano 5 is inspired by the human body – exoskeleton, vital organs and all. One of the anecdotes that tell us something about the designer’s temperament. Toshikazu remarks that a part of the shoe’s upper looks like human organs: “This looks like a stomach!”

Responding

ASICS Gel Kayano 5

The Gel Kayano 5 also sports all sorts of retro design aspects that resonate with the current bulky sneaker trend. Though it is admittedly the quintessential dad shoe, this shoe also comes with technical sophistication.

The upper is in a mesh base that includes protective caging. The heel sports a Gel section that stands out, a detail that even the designer admits was “ridiculous” but not in any bad way.

In 1999, this design is a response. There was criticism suggesting that ASICS was not very good at putting together technical shoes. Needless to say, it’s an adequate answer.

Available on November 17th, the Gel Kayano releases first in its OG look. Then, we’ll be seeing, four more iterations. They’ll be available via the good folks over at Sole Box.

Exploring the best colorways and versions of the Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

We look at the best editions of a legendary runner. Born of performance but living on in sneaker culture, this shoe is an important part of runners history. Check out our list of the top colorways of the Asics Gel Lyte III Suede.

Asics Gel Lyte III Grey Suede

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

Whenever you’re thinking about suede sneakers, it’s hard to go without some Grey. The usually somber color choice just seems to work so naturally with the texture of the soft suede overlays.

Asics Gel Lyte III Black Suede

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

With darker colors, it can be hard to see the softer texture of the Asics Gel Lyte III Suede. Nonetheless, this tonal look for the upper makes for an impressive neutral tone.

On top of that, we see the addition of a Gum outsole for a touch of old-school design.

Asics Gel Lyte III Red Suede

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

For a bright burst of color, this boisterous Red iteration will do nicely. One of the subtle pieces of design on the Asics Gel Lyte III Suede comes to us via its stitch details.

The suede overlays come together thanks to this trait. On colorways like this, those same stitches really stand out, adding to the overall look. There are a few shoes that look as good with some light denim.

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede Pack

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

The Suede Pack is a pretty fantastic release of this shoe. In general, pack releases take a certain design and often try to push its visual limits. In this case, the Asics Gel Lyte III Suede features in three tonal looks.

Available in Red, Blue, and Green, it makes for an eye-popping addition to any collection. Though the uppers are mostly tonal, each comes with White lateral Tiger branding. The midsoles also feature a mix of White and Grey, which we see often on Gel Lyte III models.

Asics Gel Lyte III Blue Suede

Much like Grey, suede shoes take Blue shades on quite nicely. Historically, the Asics Gel Lyte III suede sees some of its best iterations bringing together both colors.

Here, we get a look at a particular rendition of a Blue colorway on a runner. This bold hue is Asics Blue and it covers the overwhelming majority of the shoe. The result is a look that is nearly monochromatic were it not for the White accents.

Still, the inclusion of those contrasts helps to add depth to the Blue base color on this edition.

Asics Gel Lyte III Mens Blue Orange Suede

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

2013 is the first time we see this distinctive colorway debut. Specifically, this Blue/ Orange Asics Gel Lyte III Suede drops during the Spring. The idea is to take a more somber Blue shade and throw something extra on it.

The Springtime is about adding bright accents wherever possible. Here, we see this happen via bright cuts of Orange. Though most of the shoe is in a suede base, the contrasting accents are extra bright thanks to a synthetic build.

The linings around the ankle collar come with the same Orange hue, serving as the perfect finisher to this Springtime release.

Asics Gel Lyte III Easter Suede Pack

The Easter Pack is yet another example of how versatile this shoe can be when it comes to its looks. The visuals see no limits in terms of color palette. As it turns out, shades of pastel are also no trouble for the Asics Gel Lyte III Suede.

The Easter Pack shows us a set of different executions of that recognizable suede upper. It’s a good thing they are available in a pack because it would be hard to cop just one of these.

Asics Gel Lyte III Birch Suede

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

Tonal perfection. This iteration takes a simple, clean colorway and shows well it fits with the Asics Gel Lyte III Suede. The Birch hue is a natural tone that gives off the same sort of vibe as an egg-shell White or an Off-White colorway.

It’s also an iteration that helps bring out the material choice on this model. The nubuck accents don’t quite jump out and scream for attention. But, placing them near the suede overlays makes it an interesting combination.

We see the inclusion of a White midsole, as per usual, and some other subtle details. For one, the plush ankle collar comes with perforations to add some more complexity to this aesthetic.

Asics Gel Lyte III LC EVO Suede

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

When this pack originally releases, it’s a special occasion for Asics. Specifically, the Asics Gel Lyte III celebrates its 25th anniversary back during this pack’s 2015 debut. As such, you can imagine some big celebrations are in order at the time.

This special release features two different versions of the Asics Gel Lyte III Suede, sporting Blue and Red. Each comes with a one-piece upper that sees some details via a laser etching process. Along with this, there is ample use of perforations throughout.

Celebrating this iconic runner, this release brings back OG details through some more modern means. For our purposes, it makes for a unique piece of footwear with a great story behind it.

Asics Gel Lyte III Mens Blue Suede

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

Here’s another solid option for those of you looking for a Blue pair of this gorgeous runner. Again, this is one of those colors that is essential for any fan of suede uppers. Luckily, Asics has plenty of variety when it comes to this color scheme.

Reigning Champ x Asics Gel Lyte III Navy Suede

Asics Gel Lyte III Suede

We’re arguably saving the best for last here. Reigning Champ absolutely crushed this one. The Gel Lyte III Suede’s usual crisp upper gets even more of the premium treatment here via the services of even thicker cuts of overlays.

The result is a Navy shade on a shoe that simultaneously darkens the aesthetic while adding texture and depth.

Some Background on the Asics Gel Lyte III

The Asics Gel Lyte III has a whole lot of history behind it. Like many Asics iconic runners, this shoe is not a sudden spark. Years and years of development went into the final design of this shoe.

For one, the Gel Lyte III isn’t always the cultural staple it is today. It originally starts off as a performance experiment. Shigeyuki Mitsui, the head designer of Asics, brings about a challenge: how does the brand improve its performance running category?

By the late 1980s, Mitsui already carries a reputation for helping to develop the aGEL system. His next act? He takes a dual-density foam design and beefs it up. This is where we get the tri-density foam on the Asics Gel Lyte III – it’s also part of the backstory behind the shoe’s name.

Since it’s release, iterations such as the Gel Lyte II suede take this legendary shoe to the next level – from performance piece to sneaker culture icon.

AFEW x ASICS Gel Lyte III “Koi”

You can say whatever you want, literally. This pair is awesome and one of the most coveted out of the 25th Anniversary, if not the most coveted.

Hanon x ASICS Gel Lyte III “Wildcats”

Released in 2011, this silhouette is inspired by The Wildcats, a local running club. Some say that the materials used were not that great, but that does not stop them from having astronomical resell prices.

WMNS ASICS Gel Lyte III “Cherry Clossom”

It’s a shame that some big-footers will stay out for this one. Not every single awesome release needs to be a collab and exclusive – trust us, you will start to agree with that over time.

These “Cherry Blossom” are throwing it way back to the 90’s, maintaining their signature color blocking across the upper.

The name says it all. Inspired by cherry blossoms, the silhouette displays a perforated suede upper and of course, being a Gel Lyte III, its signature split-tongue is also present, also perforated. They will sell out, eventually.

The Best Asics Collaborations

It is a shame that we have not heard much about ASICS since 2015. It hurts us to say that, but the ASICS Gel Lyte III 25th Anniversary was the very last time that the brand made a real buzz across the sneaker community around the globe.

Apart from the Anniversary collaborations, before and after, there are quite a few pairs that deserve to be mentioned. It is unfortunate what you may have to spent to get your hands on a specific pair, but that is just how the sneaker world works.

As usual, creating a Top 20 of a brand like ASICS is difficult. Considering all the top iterations (like the familiar Asics Gel Lyte III Suede), not to mention all the great collaborations that have been released in recent times.

Please bear in mind that the best ASICS Gel Lyte (and not only!) collaborations available now will be available on online shops like Klekt and also Flight Club. You can always check Facebook groups or identical network systems for better prices, but we rather make sure you buy safely.

END. x ASICS Gel Lyte III “Wasabi”

Serving up a fashion-food fusion, and packed with flavor, END. is set to the release the ASICS Gel-Lyte III “Wasabi” in collaboration with ASICS. The one and only Asics GL3 was the chosen model to exhibit such a theme.

Unfortunately for many, ASICS has been hiding under a rock since 2015. We can easily say since the Gel Lyte III 25th Anniversary. On the other hand, their true followers have kept enjoying most of their releases. Especially with the recent introduction of the Gel Mai.

A real Wasabi tribute pair of sneakers

Considered one of the most coveted silhouettes of all time, the “Wasabi” is delivered in a premium nubuck upper, representing the sea-foam green color of wasabi. ASICS stripes display a gun-metal grey colorway, resembling the rocky regions in which the herb grows.

Peach accents and details reflect the classic combination of sashimi, wasabi and pink pickled ginger that you can find at any given sushi restaurant. END. ‘s middle name are details, hence, they are finished with an END. Japanese character on the tongue, dual-branded leather insole, and heel patch.

The shoes shall be delivered in a custom box complete with END. branded wasabi bowl and chopsticks.

END. x GL3 Wasabi is a future classic:

Apart from believing that this collaboration, in particular, will be a future classic, it is inspired by the flavor and looks of the native Japanese herb wasabi. Designed to whet the appetite of sushi enthusiasts around the world, this is the best Gel Lyte III we have seen in recent times.

Already available for registration on END. Launches. The official release is set to happen on March 8. If you are a fan of all collaborations done by END. make sure to check out their latest project with Vans.

Asics Gel-Lyte Forever

Running silhouettes are usually worn, on a daily basis, by normal people. Sure, back then they were worn on the tracks, but that’s just a fun fact.

Specifically, the ASICS Gel-Lyte III is a sneaker that even if popular now, it had its downside. Originally released in 1990, the midsole was chunkier than most runners.

Nevertheless, the split-tongue is still considered a unique approach. But, as soon as it was released, the Japanese brand moved straight away on to the Gel Lyte Ultra.

Look it up, you will find similar aesthetics when comparing to the Gel Lyte V. Now more than ever, the ASICS Gel Lyte III is considered one of the best silhouettes of all time, for many different reasons.

Put aside all the hyped collaborations, from Ronnie Fieg to the AFEW “Koi”, and the silhouette still looks great. In fact, their sales were at its highest during 2015, although, that did not last long.

Wondering Who Is Kiko Kostadinov? Find out right here

Kiko Kostadinov is currently one of the most promising fashion designers. Born in Bulgaria and ready to take on the world, Kostadinov seems to be all over the news these days.

In general, people dress to impress and that’s a fact. Furthermore, (and even if surely many may disagree) your status is decided by big brands and hefty price tags.

On the other hand, there are quite a few that do not get enough credit and still go underground. Fact: Kiko Kostadinov gets all the credit he deserves, but he still lays low when comparing to others, oddly enough.

kiko kostadinov

Fashion as a social statement

Nowadays, it is fashionable to be fashionable, if that makes sense. Everywhere you go, if you look around, you will always be able to spot someone well dressed, or at least trying to do to so.

There are designers and influencers that we all follow and heard about, for different reasons and related to different niches. That is from Yohji Yamamoto to Errolson Hugh, from Toby Feltwell to Rick Owens.

These are all people whose creative path has a powerful impact in the so-called “fashion world”. But that is something you should not worry about. Kiko Kostadinov is surely not worried about it since he is only in his late 20s.

Kiko Kostadinov bio tells us that he made up quite a curriculum and climbed up a very steep ladder in very little time. Kostadinov is just one of the most promising designers of his generation.

Considering that he never thought of going full-speed and making fashion a profession, he is not doing that bad, at all.

From Bulgaria to the UK

Born in Bulgaria and now based in London, he is mostly influenced by uniforms and work wear.  Also, and at the same time focusing on creative and inventive pattern cutting techniques. Detail is his middle name, producing rather complex and sophisticated garments.

Kiko has also worked with his father a few years back during weekends and holidays as a decorator. A circumstance that influenced and shaped him into what he is today. As a student, he needed to start earning his own money, like any other London-based graduate.

Not that long ago, in 2015 to be precise, he was a Fashion Design student at Central Saint Martins in London. At that stage, he launched a 20 piece vintage streetwear capsule collection with Stüssy.

The set was launched to celebrate the brand’s 35th anniversary. The Stussy x Kiko honored the label’s heritage and longstanding engagement with regards to street-culture.

(Kiko Kostadinov x Stussy for Dover Street Market)

NEWGEN comes in

Thereafter, Kiko Kostadinov signed with NEWGEN to take part in London Collections: Men for Spring / Summer 2017.  He kept on going while generating some deserved hype among brands and influencers.

Fast forward and he was also appointed by Mackintosh to take the wheel an become Creative Director for their new collection, Mackintosh 0001. A collection that was shown during Paris Fashion Week in January 2017 displaying a great conglomerate of modern vision with luxury tradition.

(Mackintosh 0001 by Kiko Kostadinov via Intelligence Magazine)

Working side by side with Dover Street Market, the young designer continues to build in-store installations for their locations in London, Ginza, and New York. Moreover, he merged forces with Commes des Garçons Trading Museum for the launch of his Spring / Supper 2017 collection.

Plus, if all the above is not enough, he was announced as one of Forbes Europe’s 30 under 30 in The Arts Category.

Kiko Kostadinov x Asics

His latest venture was with ASICS, the Japanese giant. The collaboration involved the GEL-Burz 1 model and was released in three different colorways. Sure, some may think the model is calamitous and unfriendly to the eye.

But, we have seen the trend of the thick and chunky midsoles and silhouettes used by many, many brands across the globe. That shoe, in particular, features FlyteFoam technology, making sure your feet remain snug and comfortable as you go.

A feature that is perfect for the daily commuter. For once, and finally, an ASICS runner got a proper update that merges the best when it comes to sports/exercise and streetwear type of styling.

And that is becoming a trend as well.

Kiko’s Asics GEL-Burz 1

Because around here we actually know a thing or two about footwear, we can go further on this. Its on-feet comfort comes from the FlyteFoam midsole, but also due to the fact that the GEL-Burz 1 is designed with a strong heel tab.

It is finished off and built using breathable mesh. Again, they are not everyone’s cup of tea, but it kind of boasted ASICS hype (we have not seen anything like this since the GEL-Lyte III 25th Anniversary).

Without a doubt, we have high expectations for Kiko. If you want to better keep up with his future endeavors, also make sure to check out and follow Kiko Kostadinov Instagram account.

Asics Gel-Lyte III “Hampton Green”: Xmas is just around the corner

The Asics Gel-Lyte III “Hampton Green” is part of the Asics Christmas Pack. It comes with details such as furry suede around the mid-foot and heel as well as a toebox built-in premium leather.

Due to its split-tongue and GEL cushioning, this particular iteration will keep you very comfortable when walking. All of it remaining true to its original debuted pair.

Further details are seen on the mix-colored outsole altogether with black patent-leather Tiger Stripes. Head over to Afew to purchase your pair of the Asics Gel-Lyte III “Hampton Green”.

About the Asics Gel-Lyte III

Originally released in 1990, the ASICS GEL-Lyte III came to conquer everything else that was on the market, back in the days. As expected, we have seen many iterations as well as collaborations throughout the years.

However, after the silhouette’s anniversary in 2015, it is unfortunate to say that the brand has declined in hype amongst the sneakerheads. After all, the GEL-Lyte III is still one of the favorite silhouettes that ASICS released. Nevertheless, true aficionados still prefer older collaborations.

In addition, the brand should not always rely on Ronnie Fieg to bring some hype back. Asics should rather concentrate their focus on making great General Releases as much. Truth be told, they have done quite a good job right here.

The best Ronnie Fieg collaborations

Were you looking for the ultimate list of the best Ronnie Fieg collaborations? Totally updated with some of the best kicks the designer has ever created? If so, you’re in the right place.

For those of you that don’t usually follow the “sneakers feed” you just might be asking yourselves the question who is Ronnie Fieg? Well, Ronnie Fieg is one of the most creative and notable footwear designers there is.

Sneaker connoisseur and aficionado, fashion designer, footwear renaissance man, Mr. Fieg is all that and much more. Without further ado, we proudly present 40 of the Best Ronnie Fieg Collaborations of All Time:

Ronnie Fieg for David Z x Asics GT Quick

Ronnie Fieg for Daviz Z x Asics GT Quick

Ronnie Fieg and David Z have collaborated and worked on this particular release. After digging into the archives, the GT Quick was the chosen silhouette for this particular drop.

Even today, the shoe does not get enough love, but we believe these, in particular, are quite awesome. Black, purple and blue were the chosen colors and was launched together with Complex.

Nowadays, it is not an expensive pair to buy within the resell community, it is just very hard to find.

Ronnie Fieg x Culture Shoq x Asics Gel Lyte III

ronnie fieg culture shoq asics gel lyte III

Limited to 190 pairs for men and 24 for the ladies, the Culture Shoq Gel Lyte III blends three mains colors – white, black and purple. They were not everyone’s favorite back in the day, and nowadays the same opinion is shared.

Even though we fell in love with it, details are seen in the perforated toe box and 3M details. In addition, you can find out more about this sneaker right here.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Cove”

ronnie fieg asics gel lyte iii

In a Caribbean photo-shoot, Ronnie Fieg has decided to show us his “Cove” version of the Gel Lyte III, inspired by a secret getaway spot in the Bahamas. Limited to 255 pairs in the world, these joints are one of the most sought-after GL3 from the one and only. As known, later on, a Gel Lyte V iteration was set to be released.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Super Blue”

asics gel lyte iii super blue

New York retailer David Z received, yet again, another collaboration by Ronnie Fieg – the Super Blue. The Gel Lyte III comes in grey hues, contrasting with blue on side panels and laces.

This pair, in particular, was limited to 252 units. It is not an impossible pair to find on the resell market, but be prepared to pay at least an arm and a leg for them.

adidas x Ronnie Fieg Metro Attitude High “Overcast”

ronnie fieg adidas overcast metro attitude hi

Most probably you have never heard of this collaboration. It’s okay, the release was rather quiet on this one. The adidas Metro Attitude Hi “Overcast” is built using premium materials (high-grade nubuck and tumbled leather as well as micro-perforated leather).

Back then, you could flex amongst friends with lace options (lime green, grey, and a lace that fades from dark navy to white). Details are seen on insoles – R4D AKA Ronnie for David Z. Limited to 250 pairs, these were exclusively found at David Z’s website.

Nice Kicks x Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “2.0”

asics x nice kicks x ronnie fieg gel lyte iii 2.0

These Gel Lyte III designed by Ronnie Fieg has a grey monochromatic buttery suede upper and were limited to 300 pairs worldwide. Plain and simple, just how we like it.

However, it is almost impossible to find a pair in deadstock condition – well, if you find one, we hope you have your credit card ready!

Ronnie Fieg x Red Wing 6″ “Navy Ash” 875 Boots

Ronnie Fieg x Red Wing 6" "Navy Ash" 875 Boots

Not everything should be about sneakers. Ronnie has also collaborated with Red Wing and these are our favorites. The Ashy Navy 6″ released in Autumn of 2009 and were built using navy distressed leather.

For the time, this was quite an expensive item, priced at $250.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel-Lyte III “Navy Aqua”

Ronnie Fieg X Asics Gel lyte III Navy Aqua

Dubbed the “Navy Aqua”, this iteration of the Gel Lyte III was sold exclusively at David Z and the pairs limited to 252 units. The mesh on the toebox allows the silhouette a retro look.

The white laces make it all pop even more due to its dark upper altogether with white details on the tiger stripes and midsole.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Salmon Toe”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III "Salmon Toe"

The Salmon Toe was the first “important” release in Kith NYC. Once they released, the pair came in a wooden and engraved special box. There are rumors stating that 70 pairs were produced – of which only 40 were numbered for collecting purposes.

Thirty-two of those pairs came with the normal Asics box. This is the most sought after Gel Lyte III of all times, we believe, even thou a second Made in Japan version was released recently, with a few different details.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Super Green”

Ronnie Fieg X Asics Gel-Lyte III Super Green

Officially, the Super Green OG never hit retailers. 300 pairs were produced with the intention of being donated through Soles 4 Soles to Haiti residents. Even though that was the plan, we can see a few pairs floating around the Internet for crazy amounts of money.

A few years later, we came across a Made in Japan version, but you know how it works – the OG will always be the OG.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics GT-II “Ultra Marine”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics GTII "Ultra Marine"

The GTII is most probably, the most underrated commercial silhouette ever to be produced by Asics. Loved by many and unknown to others, the “Ultra Marine” was released back in 2011.

The shoe displays a vibrant-colored upper built with premium pigskin nubuck with marine-inspired details at the tiger stripes.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Flamingo”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III "Flamingo"

The Flamingo is one of the all-time favorite colorways of the Gel Lyte III created by Mr. Fieg. Premium Nubuck, mesh toebox and an awesome colorway. What else can you ask for?

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Knicks”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III "Knicks"

Inspired by NBA team “Knicks”, the New York City iteration mixes royal blue and orange colors for the upper built using premium nubuck. Even though this pack was released together with the “Miami Beach”, we truly believe that the “Knicks” stand out the most.

They were released back in 2013 and were available to purchase in a limited time pop-up shop in Miami and thereafter, at Manhattan and Brooklyn flagships.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Mint Leaf”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III "Mint Leaf"

Inspired by Ronnie’s childhood spent with his grandparents in Zichron Yaakov, a small town in Israel, this collaboration translates to love and family tradition. Sitting on a grey outsole, the “Mint Leaf” upper contrasts in such a great way.

This iteration of the Gel Lyte III was released for men and women (size run: US4.5 – US13)

Ronnie Fieg By Sebago x Theophilus London Penny Loafer

Ronnie Fieg By Sebago x Theophilus London Penny Loafer

You weren’t expecting these! Ronnie Fieg was in the Dominican Republic working on his S/S12 collection and Theophilus was there for a concert. He passed by Sebago’s factory in Santa Domingo and there it started.

Representing Theo unique style and a current state of mind, nothing better than a classic Penny. This pair is a 1-of-1 and was made with Jet-Black 2H premium suede and black patent leather, altogether with the traditional Sebago’s leather sole.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Saga “Manzarine”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Saga "Manzarine"

Ronnie Fieg said that this special colorway for the “Manzarine” took a while to be on point. However, quality leather and an awesome colorway was the final result.

These Gel Saga were limited to 300 pairs worldwide and released together with a 26OZ Canadian Fleece Made in USA Letterman Varsity Jacket.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Saga “Neptune”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Saga "Neptune"

Once again, the New York designer and Kith owner Ronnie Fieg released another Gel Saga. Slate grey is the main hue found on the nubuck upper, featuring white and blue accents.

Details are seen on the lavender lining, something that you may not notice at first glance. This pair was considered a Kithstrike.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Leather Back”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III "Leather Back"

The “Leather Back” seem quite obvious, at least when it comes to the construction of these Gel Lyte III. Black is the predominant color, while details are seen in close-to-turquoise color on the tiger stripes and outsole.

It finishes off with a dark grey perforated suede toebox.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics GTII “Rose Gold”

ronnie fieg asics gt ii rose gold

Almost two years went by since Ronnie thought about this colorway. Inspired by an old photo that he took, the “Rose Gold” features a pigskin upper, nubuck tiger stripes and a perforated tongue and toebox. Contrasting with its white midsole, you can find a cinder-ish outsole and blue accents on the woven label and around the Asics stripes.

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1600 “Daytona”

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1600 "Daytona"

The New Balance 1600 “Daytona” are inspired by Ronnie’s trips to Daytona Beach in Florida. Micro-perforated leathers are seen throughout the whole shoe.

The details are just immense altogether with an ABZORB midsole adding high shock absorption and comfort when on feet. To top it all off, 3M details are seen in white, pink and ultramarine, coinciding with the three lace options.

Ronnie Fieg x Clarks Kildare

Ronnie Fieg x Clarks Kildare

Ronnie created, yet again, something totally original. These Clarks Kildare have a trainer upper placed on top of a crepe sole, keeping Clark’s DNA intact. The upper is made from water-resistant pigskin suede, perfect for rainy April – the month they were released.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte V “Volcano”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte V "Volcano"

“To help reflect Kith’s current state of growing not only as a shop but now as a full on brand, I felt ready to create a shoe that was inspired by Kith growing out of its ‘active stage’ and hopefully to its future state of eruption” – those are Ronnie’s words.

Featuring a pink-ish neoprene tongue with matching details on the side panel, the upper mixes red-hues made from premium nubuck, pigskin, and mesh.

These are one of the most sought-after models of the Gel Lyte V ever to be produced. Later on, Mr. Fieg released the Volcano 2.0 collection.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Total Eclipse”

asics ronnie fieg gel lyte iii total eclipse

The “Total Eclipse” is quite a discrete pair, however, fierce when on feet. The toe box is jet-black leather altogether with navy nubuck on the upper, contrasting with red accents.

The silhouette sits on a white midsole. As the name says, this pair resembles and simulates a total eclipse.

Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze “Coat Of Arms”

Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze "Coat Of Arms"

Ronnie Fieg started collaborating with Puma in 2012. After the release of the “OG Cove”, the COA comes to life in two different colorways – Mint and Coral. Both display pebbled black leather, brushed nubuck, premium leather, 3M brandings and 3M speckled midsoles.

Two colorways were released, however, our favorite remains the “Mint” pair. Apart from KITH, these sneakers could be purchased in Men’s Fashion Week in Paris. Find out a bit more right here.

Ronnie Fieg x Pony M-110

Ronnie Fieg x Pony M-110

Product of New York AKA PONY joined forces with Ronnie Fieg during 2012 to create a hi-top sneaker made from thick red Italian leather with snakeskin-stamped pattern details altogether with tonal laces. This particular launch was released with custom packaging, a leather dust bag as well as custom engraved wooden shoe trees and shoehorn. Limited to 500 pairs worldwide, each individually numbered on the white liner.

Ronnie Fieg x Buscemi 100mm “Veg Tan / Rose Gold”

Ronnie Fieg x Buscemi 100mm "Veg Tan / Rose Gold"

This Buscemi 100mm sneaker is unisex and handcrafted in Italy. The upper is made from un-dyed veg-tan calfskin leather with a vachetta leather liner and footbed.

As expected, these aren’t cheap – the 18k rose gold plated hardware was made specifically for this release. The pair is delivered with a screwdriver for easily removable access and would set you back $800.

Ronnie Fieg x Puma RF698 Mid “Sakura”

Ronnie Fieg x Puma RF698 Mid "Sakura"

After all, we know these don’t get much love. However, we somehow like them very much. The whole upper is perforated with details in nubuck and pigskin.

Utilizing burgundy as the main color, the toebox is contrasted by a dark navy finish. The Trinomic midsole displays some faded-effects altogether with speckles.

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1300 “Salmon Sole”

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1300 "Salmon Sole"

Unfortunately, we don’t get to see many New Balance 1300. Amongst a few very good ones, we have the “Salmon Sole” that dropped in Fall of 2012.

A simple yet effective navy colorway is present across the upper, while details are seen in the white lining and midsole. The sole is salmon, as stated by the sneaker’s nickname.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics “Kith Football Equipment” Pack

Ronnie Fieg x Asics "Kith Football Equipment" Pack

Paying tribute to the World Cup in Brazil and after a very successful pop-up shop in Brazil, the “KFE Pack” are displayed in a way that represents both nations that took drawing inspiration for the creation of the Gel Lyte III and the GTII: USA and Brazil.

We know they are not everyone’s cup of tea, but both pairs played a big role when it comes to footwear once they were released. We won’t surprise you here – we just love the gold Gel Lyte III!

Ronnie Fieg x Slam Jam x Diadora RF7000 “Primo”

Ronnie Fieg x Slam Jam x Diadora RF7000 "Primo"

Ronnie Fieg joined forces with Slam Jam and Diadora to produce a classic V7000 silhouette. The “Primo” displays a unique asymmetrical leather toebox and the colors used are considered to be a deviation of the Italian flag.

In addition, the upper is built using pebbled nubuck, full grain leather, and pigskin suede while the inner liner uses cow leather and custom-debossed insoles.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics GT Cool Express “Sterling”

Ronnie Fieg x Asics GT Cool Express "Sterling"

The GT Cool Express, in general, is a model that does not break necks, however, we do feel slightly inclined to like this one. The “Sterling” was released under the radar, somehow, and unfortunately, we don’t get to see many around.

The silhouette features a pigskin suede sterling blue toebox with small salmon details. In addition, the heel combines hues of beige altogether with a white midsole.

Ronnie Fieg x Bape “Fiegstas”

Ronnie Fieg x Bape "Fiegstas"

The “Fiegstas” are handmade in Portugal featuring a premium suede upper, sitting on top of a rubber white midsole while asymmetrical co-branding is seen on heel tab as well as on the insoles.

The pair is delivered in a custom branded box with special shoe-trees and dustbag.

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 997.5 “Cyclades”

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 997.5 "Cyclades"

Being the first individual person to collaborate on a New Balance 997.5, the Cyclades was inspired by a luxurious resort in Mykonos. The orange toebox represents the sun-umbrellas, the beige midfoot resembles the sand while de aqua-green displays the waters of the Aegean Sea.

In addition, the upper is built using premium pigskin suede with 3M details while sitting on a 998 ABZORB midsole.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III “Homage”

asics gel lyte iii ronnie fieg homage

As seen throughout the years, Ronnie likes to work on the Gel Lyte III. Paying homage to his long-lasting business relationship with Asics, the “Homage” pays tribute to 13 of his past creations.

We know it is a difficult pair to wear, no doubt, and some only have them as a collector’s item, but this iteration truly shows the amount of work, passion, and imagination that Fieg has put into his works with Asics, being part of the 25th Anniversary of the Gel Lyte III.

Ronnie Fieg x adidas Consortium Response Trail Boost

Ronnie Fieg x adidas Consortium Response Trail Boost

When the adidas Response Trail Boost was released, it was an instant hit. Different from what we are used to, this silhouette represents the evolution of trail shoes, merging its technical qualities with lifestyle visuals.

The upper features a mesh vamp altogether with a neoprene collar with premium tumbled nubuck overlays. In between so many details, we can add that the Continental outsole takes inspiration from the Trail King bike tires, creating extreme grip in all weather conditions.

Ronnie Fieg x Diadora Intrepid “From Seoul To Rio”

Ronnie Fieg x Diadora Intrepid "From Seoul To Rio"

Yet again, (if you look back at the KFE Pack) Ronnie Fieg took inspiration from Sports – but in this case, from the Olympics. Part of the “From Seoul to Rio” initiative, this iconic 80s silhouette displays hues of teal, orange, navy, and pink.

The upper features rugged pebbled nubuck with a lush pigskin suede toebox. 500 pairs were launched globally.

Years have passed since we have seen an iteration of the Gel Lyte III named “Mossad”. However, Ronnie made all sneakerhead’s wishes come true and released a very similar colorway dubbed “Militia”.

The pair is dressed in premium olive green premium nubuck and pigskin suede. This was an instant sell out and reached crazy resell prices as soon as they were launched.

We should add that before the pair was released, there was a giveaway together with Nice Kicks of the original pair. Yes, a release of a 1-of-1 pair.

Joining forces with Amsterdam-based Filling Pieces, Fieg created a new silhouette named “RF-Mid”, featuring a full nubuck upper and KITH brandings on the tongue while Fieg’s brandings are on the heels.

Out of the two released colorways, we came to the conclusion that the wheat one is the best. The whole Filling Pieces range is Made in Portugal.

For last but not least, and in celebration of KITH Sports launch, we need to include the Nike Air Maestro II High. This silhouette, in particular, was worn by Scottie Pippen before he received his first signature shoe.

A handful of colorways should be released, but our favorite is the purple, no doubt!
